Find out why PDFreactor outperforms browsers when printing over the Web

Let's start with a few questions:

  1. Does the print out from your browser offer the real What-You-See-Is-What-You-Print functionality you are looking for?
  1. Are the browser's limited print capabilities really sufficient or do you need a more sophisticated way to print out the XML, XHTML or HTML output from your application or Website?
  1. Wouldn't it be an advantage to include marketing messages (product or corporate claims etc.) and other information in e.g. the header or footer of a PDF document, rather than relying on the browser's plain print functionality?
  1. Have you ever used the print button on your browser and gotten a document that was clipped off on the right side while various formatting or layout information was lost?

Following example shows how PDFreactor can improve the print functionality of your application or Website. For additional information see also the PDFreactor interactive live demonstration PDF functionality within a Website.

RTEmagicP_icon_html.gif This is what you see in a browser.

RTEmagicP_icon_printer.gif This is a scanned version (paper size: DIN A4) of what you will see if you use the print button or print preview of your browser. Print out the HTML version above if you would like to see for yourself. The table next to the graph has four columns with numbers. Only three columns properly print out from your browser. Table headers on the 2nd and 3rd page are gone, page headers and footers do not print at all. Every browser-printer combination delivers different results, so you can not predict how much of the HTML page will actually be printed. Although you use a color printer, background colors are lost.

RTEmagicP_icon_pdf.gif This is the document (paper size: DIN A4) that PDFreactor created from the HTML page above. PDFreactor automatically adjusted the original HTML document, so it fits and prints perfectly. All colors in the original were carried over to the PDF. Headers and footers, page numbers and even column headings appear properly. Such documents can be accurately printed, used in mailings or streamed to other devices.
